1. Exfoliation: Ageing, peri/menopause, dehydration, medications & the environment can slow natural exfoliation & cellular renewal. Physical exfoliants, such as sugar are too harsh for the delicate skin – they often cause micro-damage, inflammation & can exacerbate dryness cycles. We use a synergistic blend of chemical exfoliants to gently remove old dry cells and stimulate the skins natural exfoliation enzymes to help energise sluggish processes.

2.Hydration & plumping:

Due to a weak skin barrier, and the inability to produce  their own oils, the lips are prone to dehydration – this leads to dryness and a loss of fullness. As we age the lips lose collagen & hyaluronic acid which further impacts on the ability to maintain hydration and the lips deflate. Hyaluronic filling spheres penetrate deeply, they attract ad hold water, helping to plump the lips & lip line.

3.Lipo-fill technology:

Does Lip Facial exfoliate in the same way as sugar?

No. Sugar is a physical exfoliant with sharp angular pieces and can be too abrasive/harsh for the delicate lip & perioral skin. Sugar scrubs lead to micro-damage & inflammation, further compromising the skin barrier and often worsening dryness & dehydration. Lip facial includes gentle PHA & pomegranate enzyme to loosen the bonds between old dead skin cells and help them detach without damaging healthy cells underneath. Prickly pear extract stimulates the skins own exfoliation enzymes, which often become sluggish or stop working as we age, and approach menopause or if our lips are very dehydrated. Stimulating the body’s own physiological mechanisms leads to improved health & function long term.

Can I use Lip Facial every day?

No. We don’t recommend using lip facial on the lips & perioral skin everyday, as this would lead to over exfoliation & possible irritation. Use the daily care or pro-age routine as directed in the information leaflet, use no more than 2-3x per week. Lips can be treated separately 1x week and perioral treated 2-3x per week if lips are smooth & vertical lines are your main concern.

Why is an SPF30 lip balm recommended after use?

Chemical exfoliation removes the upper layer of skin cells making the delicate new skin cells more vulnerable to UV damage. Using SPF30 daily not only protects these new cells and keeps lips soft & supple but protects against skin cancers & the herpes virus which are both triggered by the sun.

Does Lip Facial give an immediate plumping effect?

You will see a plumper lip and lip line within 30 min  and this will be maintained for up to 6 hours. Hyaluronic filling spheres together with lipo-fill technology work in synergy with the skins own physiological mechanisms to gradually improve lip volume, lip contour and vertical lines over time. Allow 6 weeks to see results and continue use to maintain results.

How does Lip Facial compare to other lip plumpers?
Common lip plumpers cause immediate inflammation & temporary swelling in the delicate lip tissue, often causing a burning painful sensation. This approach leads to accelerated ageing and increased free radical damage. Lip Facial works to increase fat in the deeper layers and hyaluronic acid in the upper layers of the skin for a long term healthier increase in volume.

Can Lip Facial give the same results as injectable lip filler or botox/lip flip?

No. No skincare preparation can increase volume, address structural changes & asymmetries to the same degree as injectables.

Can Lip Facial be used alongside lip filler, botox or other in-clinic treatments?

Yes. Using a few weeks before treatment to ensure the lip is smooth & in good health before treatment is recommended. Once your treatment has settled,  you can use lip facial as normal to support and enhance long term benefits. Always consult with your practitioner to ensure correct time to use before/after trt.

Can Lip Facial be used before and after lip blushing/SPMU procedures?

Yes & No. Using lip facial a few weeks before treatment to ensure the lip is smooth & in good health before treatment is recommended.  Lip facial should not be used 4 weeks following treatment. Always consult your practitioner for guidance.

Can Lip facial be used on broken,  inflamed or sensitive skin?

No. We recommend you focus on repairing the skin barrier first before use and then introduce slowly. Our formula is sensitive on the skin but sensitive reactive skin types should patch test prior to use and reduce the time until the skin is used to the product.
